For every new Urmet system, with your equipment, you’ll receive a Site Specific Technical pack made specifically for your project by our Technical team.

This pack includes installation manuals and best practice guide, but it also includes a site-specific connection diagram, which outlines all the connections in your system. This means that even if you’ve never installed Urmet before, you can do so with ease – just follow the diagram!

We’ve found that it is faster to deal with customer enquiries over email, than it is over the phone, as you’re not stuck on hold, waiting for someone to pick up.

However, there are situations when a phone call is easier & faster, like for technical support on site, so if you’d like a call back from the Urmet Team, we will happily call you.

We just ask that you give us some information about your enquiry first, so we can get the right member of the Urmet Team to call you back (for example, it’s no use if our Projects team call you if you need technical support on site).

So don’t worry, you can talk to us on the phone if you want to.

Yes, you can.

We recommend that you buy your systems direct from us, no matter the system size.

A Bit of History…

Urmet have been in the security & communications industry for over 80 years, and along the way we’ve not only built an internationally recognised brand, but we’ve also produced some ‘World Firsts’ too…

Urmet were founded in Turin, Italy in 1937. The name ‘Urmet’ stood for ‘Utilization and Recovery of Electro-Telephone Material’ – catchy right?

9 years later, in 1946, Urmet developed the first ‘Urmet telephone’.

12 years after this, in 1958, Urmet moved into the intercom market, and subsequently began developing a new set of products

In 1965, Urmet produced the World’s First (!!!) video door entry system.

After a few more product developments in the 1980’s (such as prepaid telephone cards & automatic telephone alarms), in 1996, Urmet rebrands to ‘Urmet Domus’.

In 1999, the UK subsidiary of Urmet Domus (that’s us) was established.

Along the way we rebranded and dropped the ‘Domus’, brought out countless new products & systems to push the boundaries of what’s technologically possible, acquired other security and smart home manufacturers and recently, celebrated our 80th Anniversary.

So, where is Urmet now?

Since establishing 80 years ago, we’re pleased to say that The Urmet Group has only gone from strength to strength, we now have…
