New Project Alert 🔔 – The Laundry Works, Watford

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have secured a new project!

The Laundry Works development, located in Watford (at the former site of the old Watford Laundry Factory, which laundered for London’s 5 Star Hotels & The Old Bailey!), is being developed by Weston Homes and Installed by Urmet Pro Installer Amwell Electrical LTD.

This project is using our Sinthesi Steel Push Button Entry Panels to begin, with plans to also use our Elekta Steel Digital Entry Panel on the later blocks.

Along with 2 different Urmet Entry Panels, this site also plans to use 243 Miro Video Handsets, & 28 P80 Readers!

This development marks the next in a long list of projects with Pro Installer Amwell Electrical, we’re eager to get started!

Urmet Supplies Sinthesi Steel to replace K Steel!

Anchor Sound & Security have done it again!

This time, they’ve replaced an old K Steel system with it’s direct upgrade, Sinthesi Steel!

You can take a look at the before and after shots in the images below… (we love the engraved nametags as well)

Sinthesi Steel is more compact than K Steel, so Anchor Sound & Security have used a Halo plate to cover the existing aperture, and we have to say, it looks a lot better!

They’ve also upgraded this system from a simple Audio only system, to a complete Video system, offering the residents a more modern Door Entry solution.

Anchor Sound & Security upgraded all 4 blocks like this, so now this site is enjoying all the benefits of a new Sinthesi Steel Door Entry system!

We love seeing our products installed on site, but it’s even better when our current product lines replace our legacy systems, as it reminds us how far we’ve come!

Another cracking install from Anchor Sound & Security – great jobs guys!

BIM Product Information Now Available on our Website!

You can now find the BIM Information for our current range of Door Entry products on our website!

What is BIM?

BIM stands for Building Information Modelling, BIM Information is used by Consultants & Architects when designing a building.

BIM Information allows Consultants & Architects to see Urmet products in 3D, and download any product-specific PDFs as well. They can then place this information directly into any specifications that they are working on.

So in short, having product-specific BIM Information live on our website makes specifying Urmet from an early stage of building design, simple.

How can I find the product-specific BIM Information?

It is live now on our product pages!

Simply scroll down to the ‘Downloads’ section under any of our current Door Entry products, and the download right at the bottom will be called ‘BIM Information’.

Simply click that to be redirected to the BIMObject website, where you can download any product specific PDFs, Revit & IFC Files.

Take a look at the GIF below which shows you how to access the BIM Information on our website…

*INSTALLED* - The Bespoke, 1 Metre Long, Brass-Finished Entry Panel!

You may remember that a few weeks ago we showed you a custom brass Entry Panel that we manufactured for Urmet Installer Wakefield Fire & Security.

This custom panel was a staggering 1 metre (!!) long and required custom engraving for each of the 11 buttons.

Now, 3 weeks on, it’s been installed on site and it looks… amazing!

Replacing an old BPT panel, this new brass panel has been placed into the existing aperture within a concrete column – take a look at the before and after below:

When we first saw the brass panel arrive, we were very excited to see what it would look like installed on site, but to see it installed neatly within a concrete column, has surpassed all of our expectations – what a cracking install!

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have secured a new project!

The Kingston Road development is located in Surrey (at the former site of the New Malden Homebase), and is being installed by Urmet Installer Beliar Limited.

This project is using both our 2 Wire Door Entry System ‘2Voice’ and our IP Access Control system ‘IPassan’. These 2 systems are seamlessly integrated within the newly UL293 certified 2Smart Stainless Steel Digital Entry Panel to provide visitor & resident lift management on site.

As well as supplying our 2Smart Digital Door Entry Panel, we are also supplying 256 Miro Video Handsets & 44 of our Secured by Design tested and certified Self Resetting Emergency Exit Systems!

This is our first project with Beliar Limited, and what a project to start on! We can’t wait to see the finished install.

How do Urmet meet Secured by Design Guidelines?

We’ve been asked by Secured by Design to create a new video based on their 2019 Homes Guide, and we thought we’d share it with you! So…

Don't Forget to Check Out Our Updated Product 360 Images!

As we’re sure you know, our main Door Entry & Access Control products each have a dedicated 360 product image.

But, what does this mean?

A 360 image allows you to rotate the image of the product by 360° by simply moving your mouse across the image, providing you with unparalleled look at all angles of the product. 

Ok, but why are you telling me this now?

Because, this feature has been updated! And it can now be found to the top right hand side of the main product image, shown below…

So if you haven’t already, go and take a look at our products from every angle!

Urmet supplies Sinthesi Steel for a System Upgrade!

We’re back with another installation from Urmet Pro Installer Anchor Sound & Security!

This time, they have used our Sinthesi Steel modular panel to replace an old (& ailing) entry panel as a part of their replacement system installation.

And… just look at the difference! It’s completely transformed the outside of the building.

One of the (many) benefits of the Sinthesi Steel panel is that it is modular, meaning it can be customised to fit your projects’ needs.

For example, in the Anchor replacement system shown above, the old panel had 20 different call buttons. The Sinthesi Steel panel allows you to choose between 20 buttons, or you can simply have the ‘digital module’ which Anchor Sound & Security chose.

This helps to keep the panel design tidy and concise.

Some other useful features of the Sinthesi Steel entry panel are:

  • White LED Illuminated Buttons and Nameplates
  • Nameplate Engraving Available
  • Call Reassurance Tone when User Presses Button

We love seeing our products installed on site; and we’re loving this install series with Anchor Sound & Security.

Yet another great installation from an experienced Urmet Pro Installer, and great choice of panel design too!

Urmet are continuing to supply Chelmer Waterside for Phase 2!

Following on from the exciting announcement of our Chelmer Waterside Site Film last week, we have some more news from Chelmer Waterside to share!

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have been chosen to continue supplying Chelmer Waterside for Phase 2.

Phase 2 of the project, like Phase 1, is being installed by Urmet Pro Installer ProLogic Systems.

Chelmer Waterside integrates our 2Voice 2 Wire Door Entry System with our IPassan IP Access Control System.

Urmet are supplying a further 15 Elekta Steel Entry Panels and 197 Miro Video Handsets  for Phase 2.

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have secured a new project!

Bank House, located in Newport, Wales, is being installed by Urmet Installer Blues Electrical Ltd.

We have been working on this project since 2018, with Urmet being installed on all 5 phases of the site!

For Bank House, we have supplied our 2 Wire Door Entry system ‘2Voice’ for all 5 phases.

We have loved seeing this project progress over the last 3 years, and we are looking forward to continuing our work with Blues Electrical in future.

Urmet Project at Cutty Sark House - 5 Years On!

Urmet supplied Pro Installer Prologic Systems for their project titled ‘Cutty Sark House’ in 2016 – we’ve been fortunate enough to see how the install is doing 5 years on…

We supplied our Polished Elekta Steel Video Entry Panels to this development, along with our Miro Video Handsets.

We are pleased to say that our Elekta Steel panels still look as good as the day they were installed, and have performed as expected for a Secured by Design certified panel.

This demonstrates not only the impressive installation carried out by Pro Installer Prologic Systems 5 years ago, but also the longevity of Urmet products.

Urmet achieve Secured by Design UL293 Certification!

We are pleased to announce that both Urmet Door Entry & Access Control products have been awarded Secured by Design UL293 certification!

UL293 is the highest level of Secured by Design accreditation for Door Entry & Access Control systems.

Any product that is UL293 certified is Secured by Design certified as an individual, standalone product; as opposed to only being certified as a critical component of a Secured by design certified doorset.

Of the certification, Manji Gami, Managing Director of Urmet UK said:

‘If your tender documentation has a requirement for a ‘Secured by Design approved Door Entry & Access Control system’, rest assured that Urmet will truly meet the specification.

Without any doubt we can say that Secured by Design, UL293 and the wealth of experience that DOCO’s bring to any development in improving the safety and security of a building should not be underestimated.

We at Urmet look forward to more developers embracing Secured by Design standards.’

Did you know Urmet have 5(!) different token colours?

You probably know by now, that each Urmet token arrives with a unique engraved ID number for identification (if you didn’t, you do now), however did you know we also offer 5 different token colours?

Each token arrives with Mifare Plus AES 128 bit encryption built-in as well, no matter which colours you choose!

Not only do they look the part, but they also allow for easier management of your Access Control system – but how?

Let’s set the scene.

There a multiple residents in one apartment; one resident loses their token, but each resident has a black token.

You’re called to issue a new token, but without finding out the token’s unique number (if it has one), how do you know which token to delete and replace in the Access Control management software?

How much easier would it be if you were called to issue a new token, with the words…

‘Resident needs a new token… apartment 319, it’s the red one that’s lost’.

Immediately, you know which token to replace, saving you crucial time when managing the system.

Well… you can do this with the different coloured Urmet tokens.

Introducing 'Specifications', now available on each Product Page!

Following on from the successful launch of FAQ’s on each product page earlier this year, we have taken the next step in providing all product information within one product page, with the launch of ‘Specifications’.

Specifications is a new tab on each product page that details individual product specs such as Dimensions, Material and Protection Ratings for each product.

The introduction of product-specific ‘Specifications’ allows you to quickly find the information you require on specific Urmet products.

‘Specifications’ are now live on all main product pages, and it is currently being rolled out to every other product in the next few weeks.

Chailey Industrial Estate, located in Hayes, is being installed by Urmet Pro Installer Rolec Group

This project is using both our 2 Wire Door Entry system ‘2Voice’ and our IP Access Control system ‘IPassan’ – this is a perfect application of these 2 Urmet systems as they are now fully integrated.

For this project, Urmet are supplying 21 2Smart Stainless Steel Video Entry Panels & 319 Miro 4.3″ Video Handsets. Oh, and 100 of the Secured by Design tested and certified Urmet Self Resetting Emergency Exit Systems!

Urmet have worked extensively with the Rolec Group for both small and large projects in the past, and we cannot wait to see how this project turns out!

Urmet have developed and released a new website feature!

Introducing Product Specific FAQ’s!

The Urmet Team get a lot of questions (which we love). However we noticed that specific questions about certain products kept cropping up. So we did something about it to make your life easier.

We created a new ‘FAQ’ section, which now sits on each product page.

This new section provides you with the answers to product specific, common questions that are asked by installers just like yourself.

Our FAQ’s section will provide you with short answers (1-2 lines) to our products’ commonly asked questions.

Ok, we know adding FAQ’s to the Urmet website isn’t THAT groundbreaking, but it’s where we’ve put them that makes it special.

It’s not a separate new page, they’re included on existing product pages – making them simple and convenient for you to view.

Urmet supplies Pro Installer Multicoms Solutions

Urmet have worked closely with Pro Installer Multicoms Solutions on their site at Spring Wharf, Bath – which involved the installation of over 150 Miro Colour Video Monitors!

As part of the installation, Multicoms Solutions installed the Urmet Elekta and Sinthesi Steel panels.

Announcing the new Urmet Multi-User Call Forwarding Device!

Compatible on our 2 Wire ‘2Voice’ system, the new multi-user call forwarding device is specifically designed for multi-dwelling residential developments.

Ok, but what is it?

The multi-user call forwarding device allows each resident to forward calls from the entry panel to their mobile device via the Urmet CallMe App.

The Urmet solution is centrally managed and remotely administered, meaning that installation is simple as you do not need to enter each individual apartment to configure the system.

We offer both the multi-user call forwarding device AND the multi-user call forwarding data bundle, which includes a 4G router, and a 2 Year Pre-Paid SIM!

Introducing the Revamped Urmet Projects Page!

Following feedback from our customers, we have been working hard to re-design our Projects page so it is easier to navigate and use.

The Urmet Projects page displays our extensive portfolio, specifically for high-volume residential developments.

Urmet Celebrate a 40 Year Relationship with Anchor Sound & Security!

This year, Urmet & Anchor Sound & Security are celebrating 40 years of working together.

To commemorate this occasion, we have a very special installation to share.

Urmet Pro Installer Anchor Sound & Security first installed this original 625 panel in 1981, and it was still fully functioning!

Despite this, the system, and building, was in need of an upgrade, and Anchor Sound & Security were the clear choice for installing the new system.

So, 40 years after it was first installed, the 625 panel was replaced with a brand new Urmet Sinthesi Steel Video Entry Panel.

Some of the features of the Sinthesi Steel Panel are:

It’s clear to see that the installation of a brand new Urmet Entry Panel, and a completely new building fascia, have fully rejuvenated this building.

Take a look at Urmet 2020 'Wrapped'

It’s been a strange year for us all, so let’s reflect on some of our highlights. We couldn’t have done this without YOU!

What’s happened at Urmet this year?

1 – New Website – Definitely our biggest change this year, and following an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on our new website, we continued to add new features such as:

– ‘What’s New at Urmet’ Panel
– Product Reviews
– Contact Widget

We’ve got many more new features planned for next year, so stay tuned!

2 – Customer Service Hub – We launched a way you can quickly find out the answers to your commonly asked questions – now with nearly 300 articles available to browse.

3 – Ticketing System – we introduced a ticketing system that has allowed us to double the amount of customer enquiries we can manage at the same time.

Oh, and that’s just since August!

Thank you to all of our customers for making this year one of change and improvement for us at Urmet UK.

Our Access Control System 'Easy Door' is now on our Website!

We are pleased to announce that our Access Control system ‘Easy Door’ is now available on our website.

Easy Door is a standalone, locally or remotely managed Access Control system that is designed for small-medium residential applications.

Easy Door is simple to program, and does not require an internet connection on site when locally programming as Easy Door utilises Read & Write technology. Users are managed in the Cloud, and the controller is updated when each token is presented to the reader on site.

With the addition of Easy Door, this means that there are now 3 different Access Control systems on the Urmet website (IPassan) each of which are designed for different types of applications.

Urmet have secured a new project - Redland Court, Bristol!

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have secured a new project!

Redland Court, located in Redland, Bristol, is being installed by Urmet Pro Installer Multicoms Solutions. 

This project is using the Urmet 2 Wire Door Entry system ‘2Voice’ and our Access Control system ‘Easy Door’.

For this project, Urmet are supplying 3 Elekta Steel Entry Panels and 27 Miro 4.3″ Video Handsets.

Urmet have worked extensively with experienced Pro Installer Multicoms Solutions for both small and large projects. We can’t wait to see how this project turns out!

We are pleased to announce that Urmet have secured a new project!

Kettle Yard is located in Bow, London, and is being installed by highly experienced Urmet Pro Installer ‘ProLogic Systems’. 

This project is using the Urmet 2Voice 2Wire Door Entry System, integrated with our IPassan IP Access Control System.

Urmet are supplying 7 2Smart Stainless Steel Digital Call Panels & 56 Miro 4.3″ Colour Video Handsets to this site.

We are pleased to announce Version 2 of the Urmet Self Resetting Emergency Exit System.

This product has achieved Secured by Design certification as a critical component part.

It’s been a busy week for us here at Urmet – we have successfully answered 700 customer enquiries!

Furthermore, we are proud to announce that now 100% of all enquiries received were successfully resolved on time! This up from 98% 2 weeks ago!

Did you know that your favourite time to send us a question is between 5-6pm every weekday?
