Urmet supply IP video entry and access control system for Berkeley development, St Joseph's Gate. Located within 10 miles of the Capital, St joseph’s is an exclusive gated collection of highly distinctive 2, 3 and 4 bedroom new and refurbished apartments, set within the grounds of a magnificent Grade II listed building.
The IPervoice system was chosen for its flexibility during the design and installation stages, its server is connected to a dedicated LAN which routes all communication between external and internal devices. During the approval stages Elekta Steel entry panels were upgraded to Elekta Glass, bespoke vehicle and pedestrian posts, powder coated black were designed and manufactured to house the glass entry panels, completing the finish desired by the client.
The development is accessed via a Gatehouse, an RF reader allows long range vehicle access for residents and visitors are greeted by the Concierge. Calls can be made from a post mounted video entry panel directly to an apartment or via the PC based Concierge switchboard software. The IPervoice system is server based therefore polling of devices is live, this helps detect devices and check their health, network alarms are presented on the Concierge switchboard software, diagnostics are displayed live locally or remotely.
A total of 49 apartments were fitted with an iModo 7” touchscreen, it’s possible with a landlords router for residents to set the ‘away mode’ allowing them to receive calls on smartphones and tablets by downloading the Urmet remote App. Up to 4 smartphones or tablets per apartment can be registered without the need for any additional control equipment. The iModo can also be set to record messages at the external panel if the resident is away. The lift to the penthouse is monitored by a CCTV camera connected to the network via an IPervoice video server allowing the camera to be viewed by the Penthouse iModo touchscreen.
iModo is a PoE device connecting directly to the LAN, the iModo also features a second LAN port for connection to a home automation server allowing the touchscreen to be used to control other devices in the home. There is also an RS485 terminal for generating local alarms detecting fire, gas, flood etc. using the IPervoice input / output module. This module has 4 inputs and 4 relay outputs (normally / closed) for alarm signalling and control 2 relays. Active alarms are presented locally on the iModo touchscreen with visual and audible notification, the alarms are also sent to Concierge.
The IPervoice IP access control system is installed site wide utilising the same LAN providing an efficiency saving as only one network is required for access control and video entry. The access control system is managed by the Concierge switchboard software, a wizard simplifies the day to day operation of the system. RF and standard proximity key fob tokens are administered within the main menu, operators are presented with a simple screen selection to search, add, delete or suspend key fob tokens and generate reports if required.
